What are Unauthorized Authentics "UA"?
Unauthorized Authentics, also known as "UA," are shoes that are produced in the same factories as genuine and authentic shoes commissioned by major shoe companies. When shoe companies assign a certain number of shoes to a factory for production, the factory often produces additional pairs beyond the assigned quantity. These extra pairs serve as replacements for any rejected shoes during quality inspections. However, these surplus shoes, numbering around 20,000 to 30,000 pairs, are left behind in the factory when the production is shifted to another factory.
The term "UNAUTHORIZED AUTHENTIC" refers to these surplus pairs that were not officially licensed, authorized, or quality checked by the shoe company. The factory then sells these shoes to sneaker dealers and online stores. Despite not going through the official authorization process, Unauthorized Authentics are virtually identical to the original products in terms of quality. They are manufactured using the same materials and by the same workers who produced the authorized pairs.
One advantage of purchasing Unauthorized Authentics is that they are usually priced lower than retail because there are no additional mark-ups from multiple layers of distribution through retail branches.
